If I was still in High School I can tell I would like this a lot more than I do. I guess I admire it's pop craftsmanship and capable hooks, but it's just not that deep to me. Some of the lyrics are clever, yes, but clever isn't always synonymous with "good." Patrick Stump is a terrific vocalist, and some of the songs have a good rhythm, but overall the whole thing is almost disposable.

A+:gaveGrade:i LOVED it!! i used to hate fall out boy with a fench passion but i listened to this cd because of the review that EW gave it. i thought to myself well it must be somewhat decent and i was wrong, it was AWESOME!! some of the lyrics are wittylike, "all the boys who the dance floor didnt love"

A+:gaveGrade:Waiting for this record proved to be a tedious chore because I had such I hopes and didnt want to be let down..Lets just say a mere 6 days after its release I had every song memorized including guitar riffs and runs in the vocals.. It bringstogether a perfect mixture of rock/pop/R&B and soul..such standouts for me are The Afterlife of The Party and You're Crashing But You're No Wave. Definitely reccomend!

Using the word EMO is hilarious. It is the ultimate in contrived, meaningless and ridiculous musical categories. It's "New Romantic" for Gen Whine.

These bands are the Adam Ant of their day. They are Spandau Ballet.

Even funnier that people have made itinto a scene they apparently need to defend on some list of merits.

FOB would call it "Meritlist" and laugh all the way to the makeup counter.

A+:gaveGrade:i love this cd and patrick does not hold back singing at all he talkes his vocals to a whole new level he has an amazing voice i cant wait to see what eles the come out with. i think infinity on high is ther best cd yet thet really changed there sound but it still works and it is still so fall out boy i love it fall out boy is the best band ever i love all ther songs on the cd infinity on high i love patrick stumph!!

B:gaveGrade:Upon first listen, I was borderline devastated at what I was hearing. However, after giving the album a solid chance, its not that bad. I would have preferred it to be a side project called "Patrick Stump experiments" rather than have it bethe latest release from one of my favorite bands. Not better than FUCT, but still pretty darn good.

A-:gaveGrade:Fall Out Boy move forward enough to offer something a little different this time around, but stick around long enough through each track and you'll hear the band that hit big with From Under the Cork Tree. Infinity On High is sweet and sobering for a lineup of wannabe's of FOB. This album puts FOB back on top without a look back to other similaracts (like Panic at the Disco, The Academy is, The Classic Crime, etc.)

Just got the cd, listened to it about 4 times through. Definately different than their last album but still has plenty of catchy hooks to get stuck in your head all day. The R&B influence is noticiable and Patrick Stump sounds better than ever. The difference in the sound may take some getting used to for some fans, but overall it's a solid album that's worth picking up.

No. This is mediocre trash unwinnigly dipping into R&B and unsoulful ballads. This is Fall Out Boy trying, and unsuccessfully, moving into "pop" territory. If they wanted to make a pop album they should have just gone out and done it. This is generic.

I notice that I really don't like any Chicago-based bands right now. Both FOB and OK Go are way to gimmicky. A cane and a top hat type gimmicky. A shave and a hair cut gimmicky.

will you STOP referring to them as an emo band?! They are not, never have been, and never will be. Whoever hijacked this label for them should be executed. If you want to listen actual emo, listen to Diary by Sunny Day Real Estate. You'll hear what a TALENTED band sounds like.

A:gaveGrade:Easily one of the most solid CD's I have heard to date. I have listened to the album at least 5 times through, and there is always something new that blows my mind each time I listen to it. Just a solid album, period, and almost every song isat least somewhat catchy, which makes this a very memorable album, one that you will catch yourself singing many times.

B+:gaveGrade:I have heard the entire CD and it has ups and down but the first three songs are unreal. I am not sure about the paino ballad but maybe it will grown on me. Overall a solid third release but it is hard to complete with their first CD, still a personal fav.........
